The All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation has commenced work ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by Mamman Mohammed, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Chairman of the Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
According to the statement, the Committee held its inaugural meeting in Abuja, where members began mapping out strategies to address lingering internal conflicts and identify potential threats to the party’s cohesion and electoral fortunes.

President Bola Tinubu had, in December 2025, inaugurated the Committee as part of efforts to heal internal divisions within the ruling party and strengthen its preparedness for the 2027 polls.
The Committee is chaired by Governor Buni and comprises key party stakeholders drawn from across the country.
Members include the governors of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Hope Uzodimma (Imo); Hyacinth Alia (Benue); Uba Sani (Kaduna); Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers); Umar Namadi; (Jigawa); Bassey Otu (Cross River); Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti); and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta).
Other members are Adamu Aliero; Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Bello Matawalle,
Minister of State for Defence; Yahaya Bello, former Kogi State Governor, Ibrahim Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs with Muiz Banire (SAN) serving as secretary.
At the Committee’s inauguration last December, Buni said it would pursue strategic engagements and broad consultations aimed at producing sustainable solutions to the party’s challenges.
He noted that the objective was to foster unity, inclusiveness and a renewed sense of belonging among both long-standing and new members, particularly aggrieved stakeholders.

The Committee, he added, would also adopt proactive measures to address emerging threats through effective conflict resolution mechanisms.
Buni urged members to place the party’s collective interest above personal considerations in the discharge of their assignment.
