The United States is indefinitely suspending immigrant visa processing for citizens of 75 countries, marking another significant expansion of the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policy.
The suspension affects immigrant visas, including those for employment and family reunification. It does not apply to non-immigrant visas such as student, tourist, or short-term travel visas, meaning visitors attending events like the World Cup in the US this summer are unaffected.
