Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (Eko Disco) has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as its interim Chief Executive Officer, effective Tuesday, January 13, 2026, placing an experienced corporate lawyer and energy executive at the helm of one of Nigeria’s most strategic power utilities.
The appointment comes at a critical time for the electricity sector, as distribution companies face increasing pressure to improve supply reliability, adapt to cleaner energy pathways, and manage a complex and evolving regulatory environment in one of Africa’s busiest commercial corridors.
Joseph-Condotti brings deep institutional knowledge to the role. She currently serves as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, Eko Disco’s parent company, and has played a central role in shaping the governance and operational direction of the utility over the years.
She was previously Eko Disco’s pioneer Chief Legal and Company Secretary, a position that placed her at the heart of the company’s transition and restructuring following the privatisation of Nigeria’s power sector.
Her responsibilities at Eko Disco extended far beyond legal functions. Over time, she held several senior management roles, including Head of Regulatory Compliance, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Supervising Chief of the Customer Service Department, and Data Protection Officer.
This wide-ranging experience has given her first-hand insight into regulatory compliance, workforce management, and customer service challenges, an operational perspective expected to inform her leadership during her interim tenure.
Outside Eko Disco, Joseph-Condotti is recognised as a leading voice in Nigeria’s energy industry, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, sustainability, carbon markets, and carbon credits. Under her leadership, West Power & Gas has developed a diversified energy portfolio spanning both conventional and renewable assets, reflecting her belief that Nigeria’s power sector must balance immediate reliability with long-term energy transition goals.
Her academic background combines law, finance, and business leadership. She earned her law degree from the University of Ibadan, a master’s degree in international finance law from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from INSEAD Business School.

She is also a certified board evaluation professional with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group and a recognised corporate governance trainer, strengthening her influence across corporate and regulatory circles.
Earlier in her career, Joseph-Condotti served as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Lagoon Home Savings and Loans and worked as a legal associate at Banwo & Ighodalo, one of Nigeria’s foremost commercial law firms.
Her professional contributions have received wide recognition. She was named among the Legal 500 GC Powerlist’s Top 100 General Counsels in Nigeria in both 2024 and 2025 and was honoured as INSEAD’s “INSEADer of the Month” in April 2024.
In 2025, she was listed among the Ascent Top 100 Career Women in Africa and featured in multiple rankings celebrating Africa’s most influential female leaders in law and energy. Most recently, she became the inaugural recipient of the Legal Era Leadership Excellence Award of the Year in 2025.
Joseph-Condotti also sits on several boards and advisory platforms, including as a founding member of the Women in Energy Network and a member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Public Affairs and Advocacy Committee.
