… Tinubu has right to sack me as FCT minister – Wike
… 2027: Atiku will suffer 2023 fate in Rivers – Wike
… Wike is our political leader – Rivers Assembly Speaker
Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT has declared that President Bola Tinubu has the right to sack him as minister if he so wishes.
This was as he added that his belief in the President in 2023 led to his full support for his (Tinubu’s) electoral victory in that year’s presidential election.
Wike was speaking at the grand finale of his ‘Thank you’ tour of local government areas in Rivers State, which took place at at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola on Sunday January 11, 2027.

The minister, who was accompanied by high-profile members of the Renewed Hope family in Rivers State, including factional chairmen of the state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stressed that the support given to Tinubu by the Renewed Hope family, which he (Wike) leads, led to the president’s victory in 2023.
“So, like the Minority leader (Kingsley Chinda, member, House of Representatives) said, we never signed an agreement with the president (in 2023). We never sat down with Mr President. All Mr President told us, ‘Support us, you will not regret it.’ And for the support and the glory of God, he saw what we did,” he said.
Wike said Tinubu has reciprocated the support given to him, which has seen him give appointments and other support to Rivers people. One of such being the appointment of a Rivers person as the minister of the FCT.
Wike said the President will receive similar support, while taking a swipe at supporters of the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who he said could only deliver 10% votes for him in Rivers State.
He suggested that Atiku, who has defected to the ADC, will suffer similar fate in Rivers State if he emerges presidential candidate of the party in 2027.

Martin Amaewhule, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, whose members are embroiled in a seeming face-off with Siminalayi Fubara, state governor, declared Wike as their political leader.
Amaewhule, whose is an indigene of Obio/Akpor LGA, as is the FCT minister, the factional chairmen of the PDP and APC, Reps member Chinda, and others, said Wike has their full support in the task of ensuring Tinubu’s re-election.
