The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards saw historical biopic Hamnet emerge as a top winner in the drama category. At the same time, Warner Bros. ‘One Battle After Another’ swept multiple honors in musical or comedy, including Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson.
On the TV side, HBO Max’s medical drama ‘The Pitt’ and Netflix’s limited series ‘Adolescence’ were among the night’s biggest victors, with young breakout Owen Cooper making history as the youngest supporting actor winner at age 16.
The ceremony also introduced a new Best Podcast category, with Amy Poehler taking home the inaugural trophy for ‘Good Hang With Amy Poehler’. Netflix had a strong showing overall, securing wins for animated feature ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ and multiple nods for ‘Adolescence’. Highlights included Jean Smart’s third win for ‘Hacks’, Timothée Chalamet’s charismatic acceptance for ‘Marty Supreme’, and Ricky Gervais earning laughs with his stand-up special victory.
