All projects in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) especially all infrastructure projects, electrification, environmental, desilting, and water are to undergo verification.
The essence is to bring their details up in the digital platform without which payment would no longer be made.
The NDDC has already constituted a verification and payment committee to carry out the exercise.
The Management of the NDDC led by Samuel Ogbuku who constituted the committee, said it followed one of the resolutions reached at the 9th meeting of the 7th governing board of the Commission held on December 8, 2025.
The Board approved the constitution of a project verification committee to verify all infrastructure, electrification, desilting, environmental, and water projects for the purpose of capturing them in the Commission’s Directorate of Finance and Accounts’ Digitised platform for payment purposes.

All this was sequel to the Federal Government’s directive that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) should digitalise their operations and go paperless by December 31, 2025.
The MD said it was therefore imperative for the NDDC management to conduct a comprehensive verification of all completed projects to capture the necessary information in the Commission’s Directorate of Finance and Accounts’ electronic database for payment purposes.
According to Seledi Thompson-Wakama, the director, Corporate Affairs, the committee would undertake a comprehensive verification of all completed projects in the region from inception to January 2023, to capture them in the Digitised database of the Directorate of Finance and Accounts for E-payments.
She named members of the Committee as Boma Iyaye, the executive director of finance and administration, as chairman; Victor Antai, executive director projects; Victor Arenyeka, director of legal services, as secretary; while Gbenga Omowanle, director of project monitoring service; Kunemofy Asu, director finance and administration; and Lucky Ogbuji, the director of internal audit, are members.
