WhatsApp is rolling out a set of enhancements designed to make group conversations clearer, more expressive and easier to manage.
The update introduces custom member tags which allows people to display a short label next to their name in group chats so others have more context about who they’re chatting with.

These tags are unique to each group, by allowing users tailor how they appear depending on the audience.
WhatsApp is also adding text-generated stickers. Users can type a word or phrase into the Sticker Search bar and instantly turn it into a sticker, then save it directly to their personal sticker library for reuse without needing to send it first.

The third major addition is smarter event reminders. When sending an event invitation in a group, organisers can now set custom alerts to notify invitees ahead of time, helping ensure everyone remembers and shows up.
These features build on WhatsApp’s broader effort to make group chats less chaotic and more functional as they evolve into tools for coordination and community.
