OpenAI has introduced a new feature called ChatGPT Health, which is designed to make health and wellness information more personalised and useful for ChatGPT users.
ChatGPT Health gives users a dedicated health space where they can link their medical records and wellness apps such as Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal to help the AI provide responses that are grounded in their own health data.
ChatGPT, through this new feature, will help its users to explain recent lab results, suggest questions to ask a doctor, give guidance on diet and exercise, or clarify different health insurance options based on a person’s health patterns.

According to the company, more than 230 million users worldwide ask health-related questions on ChatGPT every week, making health one of the most common use cases for the platform.
ChatGPT Health is designed with doctors as the feature was developed in close collaboration with physicians and aims to support users in managing and understanding their health, not to replace medical professionals.
OpenAI also stressed that ChatGPT Health is not intended for diagnosis or treatment, but it’s meant to help people navigate everyday health questions and see health trends over time.
To protect sensitive information, all health conversations occur in a separate, secure space within ChatGPT. Health data and chats are not used to train OpenAI’s main AI models, and users are encouraged to use the dedicated Health tab for any medical or wellness queries for added privacy.

ChatGPT Health is initially rolling out to a small group of early users. People with ChatGPT Free, Go, Plus, or Pro plans can sign up to access it, excluding users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK for now.
OpenAI plans to expand access on the web and iOS in the coming weeks, though some integrations, such as medical records, which are currently limited to the US, and linking Apple Health, require an iOS device.
