Meta Platforms has halted the planned international rollout of its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, postponing launches in countries such as the UK, France, Italy, and Canada that were slated for early 2026.
The company said the move is necessary because demand in the United States has far outstripped supply, leaving inventory extremely tight and waiting lists stretching well into this year.
The Ray-Ban Display glasses developed with eyewear partner EssilorLuxottica represent Meta’s most advanced wearable so far, blending smart features like photo capture, content streaming, and an AI assistant into a stylish Ray-Ban frame.
Since their U.S. debut, strong consumer interest and limited production capacity have created persistent supply challenges.

Meta stated that the decision means it will prioritise fulfilling orders from U.S. customers first while it reassesses how and when to make the glasses available overseas. No new international release dates have been announced.
The company showcased additional software improvements at CES 2026, which included new capabilities for the glasses and their accompanying Meta Neural Band control device, but for now, the focus remains on meeting domestic demand before expanding to international markets.
