Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted that his side’s dominance of possession counted for little without moments of individual brilliance after the Reds’ 0–0 draw at Anfield against Leeds in a Premier League fixture on Thursday night.
Despite enjoying close to 70 percent of the ball at Anfield, Slot’s men struggled to break down a well-organised Leeds defence and were ultimately held to a frustrating stalemate.
The result extended Liverpool’s unbeaten run to nine matches, but it was another performance that underlined concerns about a lack of cutting edge in attack.

“I think we’re the team with the most ball possession in the league this season, but ball possession does not mean a lot if you cannot create enough chances,” Slot said.
“To create chances against a low block, you need pace and individual special moments to create overloads. Not for the first time this season, we saw a team that wanted it and tried hard, but it was difficult for us to find the opening.”
Liverpool were notably without key attackers Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak, absences that further blunted their attacking threat.
The draw keeps Liverpool in fourth place, three points clear of Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for a Champions League spot, while Leeds extended their unbeaten run to six games and moved seven points clear of the relegation zone.
