The Lagos state government has announced that vehicular movement along major routes on Lagos Island ahead of the EYO festival set to hold on 27th December, 2025, will be closed.
The state government in a travel advisory issued on Friday, 26th, stating that vehicular movement on major Lagos Island streets, especially along the procession routes, will be restricted or fully closed to allow the traditional ẸyỠprocession to move safely.
According to the LASG, consequently, the following routes will be temporarily closed to traffic: Third Mainland Bridge exit to Adeniji Adele Road, Adeniji Adele ramps inward and outward Oyebanji, Adeniji Adele inwards Third Mainland (Church bus stop).
Places at Sura junction, like descending the Simpson Bridge to Sura from Osborne, outward Sura inward Osborne by Simpson Bridge, outward Sura inward Obalende bridge, and Third Mainland exit to Sura.

At the Obalende Axes, descending P&T from Obalende bridge, descending Obalende bridge inward Kam Salem (To forestall One-Way Drive).
Also, at Onikan junction, inward Onikan roundabout from Awolowo Road by Military Hospital. Under the bridge of Zone 2 inward Onikan roundabout.
Descending CMS/Cathedral church outer Marina inward Odunlami, at the UBA-inner Marina, descending UBA from the CMS bridge, inward UBA from Leventis, inward Apongbon underbridge TSL by UTC building, and inward Iditta by BAT.
All adjoining streets on Inner Marina Road are not left out as motorists were advised to avoid Apongbon bridge descending Leventis, outward Apongbon by the foot of the bridge beside Wesley Cathedral, exit of Ereko/Ebute Ero inward Apongbon bridge, and exit of Olowogbowo inward Apongbon by Kuye B/stop.
They also advised motorists to avoid the Idumota Axes including Idumota inward Iddo after pedestrian bridge, ascending Carter Bridge by Iddo, inward Ejalonibu from 3rd Mainland end (odo alagbafo) and exit of Police Post into Odo Alagbafo bridge.
Motorists are therefore advised to use the alternative routes and plan their journey as LASTMA officials will be deployed to all the diversion points for a seamless flow of traffic.

“Or Eko Bridge → Apongbon → CMS Bridge → Bonny Camp → Ozumba Mbadiwe Road → Law School → Lekki Epe Expressway to continue their journey,†LASG stated this as the alternative routes to access the Lagos Island.
To exit the Lagos Island, “Lekki-Epe Expressway → Victoria Island → Falomo Bridge → Alfred Rewane road → Osborne road → Dolphin road → Third Mainland Bridge to continue their journey
“Or Lekki-Epe Expressway → Law School → Ozumba Mbadiwe road → Bonny Camp → CMS Bridge → Apongbon → Eko Bridge to continue their journey,†LASG stated.
