Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, has extended an invitation to Enugu diasporas to explore the State’s abundant business and investment opportunities in health, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Governor Mbah, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chidiebere Onyia during the Enugu Diaspora Homecoming held on Monday in Enugu, said his administration had put certain measures in place that would make investments thrive.
According to him Enugu Government is working very hard to make Enugu State an investment destination for everyone in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Highlighting what the Administration is doing in education, climate change, and the agricultural sector, Governor Mbah said the Enugu State Government had launched a security trust fund, adding that the first set of drones had been deployed to track criminality.
He explained that the Government is focusing on climate investment as well as investing significantly in ensuring that the transportation system aligns with its climate action plan in Enugu State.
“Enugu State is the first sub-national entity that has an approved climate action plan supported by the Global Climate Fund. This is because we have designed a couple of opportunistic bankable projects that are climate-friendly.
“So those of us in the diaspora space who have connections can work together with us to build a community of support for our infrastructure, as Enugu State is ready”, Governor Mbah said.

Assuring them of the safety of their investments, Governor Mbah said, “We are happy to announce that our forest guard has been fully equipped and will continue to recruit more people to go into the nooks and crannies of our forests to fish out criminals and bring them to justice.
“Our government is very clear that investors will not come to Enugu if the state is not secure, because investment goes to where there is peace.
“That’s why the government, at the very beginning, made security a very important assignment and will continue to do so.”
George Ugwu, Professor and Enugu State Commissioner for Health, on his part, said the Mbah Administration is revitalising and expanding healthcare from primary to tertiary levels.
He emphasised the need for Enugu diasporans to support the State health sector with the needed manpower and equipment in health facilities.

Ugwu said that the diaspora could also assist in the training and retraining of health personnel in Enugu State as well as the inclusion of more citizens in the Enugu State Universal Health Insurance Scheme by registering them.
Chinyere Agbayi, National President, Enugu Association, USA, and Co-Chair of the Enugu Diaspora Organisation Homecoming, said they were back in Enugu because Enugu diasporans love what Mbah is currently doing in terms of infrastructural development.
“He is actually an exceptional governor, and the new face he has given to Enugu State is unmatched. So we are looking forward to working with him in 2026,” she said.
