The Federal Government has stepped up efforts to commercialise research and innovation as drivers of economic growth.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Kingsley Tochi Udeh, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, led the process, engaging billionaire industrialist and global energy investor, Arthur Eze, in Abuja on Thursday, according to a statement by the ministry.
The meeting focused on building market-driven partnerships to move science, technology and innovation research outcomes into industry, with an emphasis on industrialisation, job creation and global competitiveness.

The ministry said the engagement reflects the administration’s commitment to closer collaboration between government, industry and influential national stakeholders to accelerate innovation led development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Udeh said strategic partnerships with respected industry leaders are critical to shaping policy direction and mobilising national support to connect research outputs to markets.
Prince Arthur Eze, founder and chief executive officer, Atlas Oranto Peteoleum, commended President Tinubu for prioritising innovation and for appointing Udeh to lead the ministry.
He expressed support for initiatives that promote technological advancement, youth empowerment and indigenous capacity, and pledged continued backing for market driven innovation and industrial growth.
The industrialist also called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to support the administration to ensure full delivery of its economic agenda.
Philip Ebiogeh Ndiomu, permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, thanked Prince Eze for his engagement and sustained contributions to national development.
He said the ministry would continue to work with visionary business and political leaders to translate research and innovation into measurable socio economic outcomes.
The ministry described the meeting as another milestone in its drive to build partnerships that harness innovation, leadership and investment for national prosperity.
