Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has congratulated three indigenes of the State, Major General Ime Okon Bassey, Air Vice Marshal Patrick James Edem, and Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Cletus Ukpong, on their recent promotion to senior ranks in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
In a congratulatory message issued by Ekerete Udoh, his Chief Press Secretary, the governor described the promotion as a clear reflection of the officers’ dedication, professionalism, and outstanding commitment to national service.
Speaking on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Eno said the elevation of the officers was well deserved, noting that their careers exemplify selfless and patriotic service to the nation.

He described the newly promoted officers as role models and sources of inspiration to younger generations, expressing hope that their achievements would encourage young Nigerians to embrace discipline, integrity, and service to the fatherland.
The governor further expressed confidence that the officers would continue to uphold the core values of loyalty, excellence, and honour that define the Akwa Ibom people, while serving the country with distinction.
He urged them to sustain their commitment by supporting and implementing the security vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through their respective Service Chiefs, as the nation works to address its security challenges with renewed determination and vigour.
