Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed sorrow over the death of Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, describing the loss as painful and irreplaceable.
In a condolence message issued on December 14, 2025, Yilwatda commiserated with Douye Diri, Bayelsa State governor, the family of the deceased and the people of the state, noting that the late deputy governor was a dependable partner in governance.

“I received with deep sorrow and a heavy heart the news of the passing of your Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo,” Yilwatda said.
“This is a painful and irreplaceable loss, not only to you as a leader who shared the burdens of governance with a trusted partner, but also to the Government and good people of Bayelsa State.”
Speaking on behalf of the National Working Committee of the APC, as well as party leaders and members nationwide, the APC chairman extended the party’s condolences to the bereaved.
“On behalf of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), our leaders and members across the nation, I extend our heartfelt condolences to you, the family of the departed, and the entire people of Bayelsa State,” he said.
Yilwatda also offered prayers for the repose of the late deputy governor’s soul and for strength for those left behind.
“We pray that God Almighty grants the late Deputy Governor eternal rest, and gives you, the bereaved family, and the people of Bayelsa the strength, comfort, and grace to bear this painful loss,” he added.
He urged Diri and the people of Bayelsa State to accept the party’s sympathy and assurance of support during what he described as a difficult moment.
“Please accept our deepest sympathies and assurances of our prayers at this very difficult time,” the APC chairman said.
