The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has praised the capacity development program of Collective Power Limited, an energy solutions provider in the oil and gas sector, saying it’s critical to Nigeria’s economy.
The NCDMB made this remark during a factory visit to Collective Power’s Port Harcourt facility by its Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) team on Thursday.
Speaking shortly after the inspection tour of Collective Power’s factory, the leader of the PNC team, Wemimo Oyelana, said that with Nigeria’s large population and a highly competitive job space, structuring of capacity development programs by brands like Collective Power would help fast-track the nation’s economic growth.
“We have a very large population. So any organization such as Collective Power that is investing in the training of graduates and training of technicians to ensure that we’re developing capacity is critical to our economy,” she said.
The PNC team leader expressed satisfaction with the quality of equipment, production facility and services they saw at Collective Power’s factory and commended the company for its achievements within a short period of commencing operations.
“We’re very satisfied with what we’ve seen. One of the key things that I’m glad that we’ve seen is the training that they’ve put together. In a very short time, just amount of two years, they have a few international partners, but what they’re ensuring in Nigeria is training people. That is human capacity development.
“Kudos to Collective Power for what they’ve been able to achieve in such a short amount of time and I’ve been able to see at this factory visit. Thank you very much for hosting this factory visit and we look forward to greater things from Collective Power,” she said.
During the visit, the PNC team toured the company’s training centre, switchgear design and testing areas, prefabricated substation design line and electrical installation and commissioning operations.
Collective Power MD, Oghenetega Ekpamaku, who guided the PNC team on the tour, explained that the company’s services include prefabrication buildings, system integration, site services, protection relays and control panels, HMI, SCADA and PMS, instrumentation and controls, switchgear digitalization and RTU, low voltage panel assembly, medum voltage switchgear – secondary compartment, engineering and assembly, electrical system studies, among others.
He explained that Collective Power partners with such global brands as Treysan, Shweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Schneider Electric, Gutor, Eaton and Bicc Cables.
