The 2025 Spotify Wrapped data for Nigeria has revealed Wizkid as the most-streamed artist on the platform for the year. The top 10 list of the most-streamed artists is a statement on Nigerian listeners’ loyalty, featuring a blend of global festival headliners and artists whose sound is deeply rooted in local culture.
Alongside Wizkid, Seyi Vibez comes in at number 2. His 2025 album ‘Fuji Moto’ hit fans with singles like How ARE YOU, MARIO KART, and Pressure, raking over 80 million streams combined among other singles from previous albums. Asake holds the number 3 spot with top songs from ‘Lungu Boy’ album like MMS (79 million streams), Active (71 million streams), among songs from his previous works like ‘Work Of Art’ and MMWTV. Global icon Burna Boy took fourth spot with top songs from his ‘No Sign Of Weakness’ album like ‘Love’, Bundle BY Bundle, and ‘TaTaTa ft Travis Scott, while ODUMODUBLVCK took the number 5 spot thanks to the two albums he dropped this year.
The list also notably features FOLA at number seven, one of the four major breakout acts who actively redrew the nation’s new sonic agenda this year. The inclusion of new voices like FOLA alongside heavyweights like Davido at number 8 for his song ‘With You’ ft Omah Lay, which was the most streamed song of the year, Rema at number 9, and Olamide (#10) demonstrates a vibrant music ecosystem where established stars nurture, rather than stifle, emerging talent.
This local enthusiasm is reflected in the key data points of the report. The collective time spent by Nigerian users on the platform—exceeding 1.3 billion hours in 2025—has increasingly been dedicated to championing this new wave of homegrown talent. Crucially, local music consumption soared by a staggering 82 perent over the past year, cementing a clear preference for Nigerian artists. This unprecedented growth further highlights the deep connection listeners have with their own cultural exports, even as the global appetite for Afrobeats itself grew by 22 percent, proving the genre’s status as a world-shaping force.
