Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed appreciation to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, for initiating road construction projects in Dass Local Government Area of the state.
The governor made the commendation during the groundbreaking ceremony for the 36.65km Dott–Dado–Baraza road project.
Mohammed, who acknowledged that Dogara did not complete the project before leaving office, said his administration would continue from where the former speaker stopped.

“I will help him to complete the work, even though it is in his constituency. I thank him immensely for starting it,” he said.
He added that Dogara had set a good example by initiating the project, urging residents to emulate such efforts.
In his remarks, the Emir of Dass, Uthman Bilyaminu, conveyed the appreciation of the Emirate Council to the governor for extending developmental projects to communities in the area.
Also speaking, Mohammed Jibo, chairman of Dass Local Government Area, said the road would benefit residents significantly. He noted that the road would link nearly four communities, Dumba, Polchi, Lukshi and Zumbul, thereby accelerating development in the area.
Jibo pledged that in 2027, the people of Dass would give their total support to Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
