The Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) has continued the expansion of corporate governance ideals with the induction of new individual and corporate members into its fold.
The body, at its 2025 President’s Dinner and Induction held on Tuesday, November 24, in Lagos, celebrated excellence, honoured leadership, and reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to advancing governance practices across Nigeria and beyond.
This year’s event, themed “Transformational Oversight: Ensuring Sustainable Corporate Performance,” brought together an esteemed gathering of board members, senior executives, policymakers, investors, governance professionals, and partners.
The ceremony highlighted how boards can move beyond traditional compliance to embrace foresight, accountability, and innovative stewardship in today’s evolving business landscape.

Honouring Outstanding Governance Leaders
A major highlight of the evening was the Conferment of Fellowship, where seven distinguished professionals were recognised for their exceptional contributions to corporate governance and ethical leadership.
The honourees include Segun Ogunsanya, board chair, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA); Suzanne Iroche, independent non-executive director, UAC of Nigeria Plc, and Emma FitzGerald, independent non-executive director, Seplat Energy.
Others include Rabi Isma, independent non-executive director, Stanbic IBTC Bank; Koosum Kaylan, independent non-executive director, Seplat Energy;
Olusola David-Borha, board chair, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, Salamtu Hussaini Suleiman, non-executive director, FMN Agro (Flour Mills of Nigeria Agro).
These leaders were honoured for their vision, integrity, and commitment to strengthening governance structures within their respective institutions.\

The event also received new individuals and members into SCGN’s community of governance professionals.
The Society, through its membership programmes, continues training initiatives, and thought leadership platforms, equipping leaders with knowledge, tools, and networks that advance sustainable corporate performance.
The Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria basically promotes best practices in corporate governance, accountability, and ethical leadership.
Through advocacy, education, and capacity building, SCGN supports directors, boards, and executives in strengthening governance frameworks that drive sustainable growth and institutional integrity.
