The first section of the Lagos-calabar coastal highway, measuring 47 kilometres,will be opened to traffic in December 2025.
David Umahi, Minister of Works, who disclosed this during an inspection tour of the highway, Sunday afternoon. added that the opening will take place between December 12–17.
He assured that both the government and the contractor are committed to completing this section of the highway which stretches 750 kilometres and connects nine coastal states of the federation.
The minister also disclosed that the contractor is working to ensure that the entire section 1 of the highway plus half of section 2 will be completed by April 2026.
