Efeke Dadaza, state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna, has assured members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ stream of the scheme’s commitment to their safety, welfare, even as she appealed to the Kaduna State government for additional support to enhance camp operations.
Speaking at the swearing-in and opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ orientation course on Friday in Kaduna, Dadaza commended Governor Uba Sani for his consistent support for the scheme.
She said the governor’s sustained involvement in NYSC activities reflected his belief in the objectives of the scheme and his longstanding goodwill towards corps members.
Dadaza noted that the orientation course remained the first cardinal programme of the service year, designed to prepare corps members through lectures, leadership training, drills, self-defence sessions, and language instruction to aid communication with host communities.

She added that the scheme was also equipping corps members with vocational and entrepreneurship skills to reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance after service.
The NYSC coordinator disclosed that the camp recorded a combined total of corps members deployed to Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory, noting that they had so far conducted themselves well since registration commenced.
She expressed appreciation to Governor Sani for providing a new JMC Hilux vehicle to support monitoring of corps locations, inaugurating the state NYSC governing board, and approving ongoing renovation projects in the camp.
According to her, the projects include the reconstruction of the pavilion, renovation of the dilapidated hall, drilling of four boreholes, installation of solar streetlights, and supply of 2,000 plastic chairs. She said the improvements had made the camp more conducive for the orientation exercise.
Dadaza also appealed to the governor to consider long-standing requests, including augmentation of camp feeding, payment of stipends to corps members serving in the state, and provision of bunks and mattresses, stressing that corps members relied on government support to effectively carry out their duties.
She further appreciated Gloria Ibrahim, the chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, for her commitment to the scheme, as well as collaborating agencies and partners whose contributions ensured the smooth take-off of the orientation exercise.
Dadaza advised corps members to participate fully in all camp activities, reminding them that while the scheme rewards excellence, it also punishes indiscipline. She urged them to uphold the values of diligence, commitment, and respect for camp rules.
In his remarks, Governor Uba Sani congratulated the corps members and urged them to serve with discipline, patriotism, and a commitment to national unity.
Sani, represented by Gloria Ibrahim, commissioner for youth development, reaffirmed the state government’s resolve to ensure their safety and support NYSC operations in the state.
