United Nigeria Airlines has accepted the public apologies issued by social media personalities Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, known as Mr. Jollof, following an onboard altercation that occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at the Asaba International Airport on November 17, 2025.
In a statement signed by Chibuike Uloka, the airline’s Public Relations Officer, the management confirmed that both individuals had publicly expressed remorse on their respective social media platforms. They also pledged to refrain from any behaviour that could compromise aviation safety, order, or decorum on future flights.
Uloka noted that the airline expects both men to honour their commitments, stressing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful travel environment for all passengers.
United Nigeria Airlines also commended the prompt intervention of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Airport Security (AVSEC), other aviation agencies, the Asaba International Airport Authority, as well as its crew and operational teams.
According to the statement, all parties acted swiftly and professionally in line with established safety protocols to de-escalate the situation.

Reaffirming its stance against unruly passenger behaviour, the airline said it remains aligned with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and relevant regulators to ensure that air travel within the country remains safe and orderly.
The statement further urged travellers to cooperate with airline staff, security agencies, and airport authorities, noting that such cooperation is vital to maintaining the integrity and safety of aviation operations.
United Nigeria Airlines reiterated its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and dignified services to passengers across its network.
