The Federal Government has assured that it is ready to collaborate with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) on the production of pharmaceutical products to enhance healthcare delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said in a statement that George Akume, SGF, gave the assurance when a delegation from the PSN, led by its National President, Pharmacist Ayuba Ibrahim, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
The SGF, who was represented by Danjuma Sanusi, Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, said the Federal Government is committed to improving the well-being of citizens through the provision of affordable and accessible healthcare for all.
He added that the government is open to collaborating with the Society to ensure improved production of pharmaceutical products.
He stressed that funding is critical to achieving enhanced pharmaceutical production and reassured the PSN of the government’s readiness to provide the needed incentives and create an enabling environment to attract funding through partnerships with donor organisations.
Earlier, Ayuba Ibrahim, National President of the PSN, said the visit was to brief the SGF on the Society’s plan to celebrate its centenary on March 27, 2027.
