The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that a total of 1,710,450 Nigerians completed both online and physical voter registration between October 13 and 17, 2025, as part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
According to INEC’s Week Eight report, Osun State emerged with the highest number of new registrants at 151,593, representing 8.86% of total registrations nationwide.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) followed with 106,855, while Kano, Imo, Sokoto, Lagos, and Borno also featured among the top-performing states.
In contrast, states like Cross River (9,634), Abia (6,893), and Ondo (12,664) recorded the lowest registration figures during the week under review.
Registration remains suspended in Anambra State pending the November 8 governorship election, in line with Section 9 (6) of the Electoral Act 2022.

Youth participation dominated the registration exercise, with the 18–34 age group accounting for 73.74% of new registrants.
Women also outnumbered men, making up 55.92% of the total figure.
In terms of occupation, students (33.11%), business owners (18.49%), and housewives (15.20%) formed the largest registration blocs, reflecting strong engagement among younger and working-age Nigerians.
Persons with disabilities (PWDs) made up 1.41% of the new registrants, with physical impediments, deafness, and cognitive learning disabilities among the most reported conditions.
INEC reiterated that these figures are preliminary and subject to data cleanup, including the claims and objections period and verification through the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) to eliminate double registration and inconsistencies.

The Commission encouraged eligible Nigerians to continue their registration via its portals — cvr.inec.gov.ng and cvr.inecnigeria.org — or visit designated centers nationwide.
“We are consolidating Nigeria’s democracy by making every vote count,” INEC stated.
