Liverpool have been tipped as clear favourites to retain their Premier League title this season, according to CIES Football Observatory supercomputer.
The Reds, under Arne Slot, stormed to the 2024/25 title by finishing 10 points clear of Arsenal in the Dutchman’s debut campaign. They have begun the new season in equally impressive fashion, sitting top of the table after victories over Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Arsenal.
A late flurry of goals helped see off the Cherries and Magpies before a stunning Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick secured a statement win against the Gunners.
Backed by a huge £450m summer outlay that brought in Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool now boast one of the strongest squads in Europe.
The CIES Football Observatory supercomputer model gives Liverpool a 28.9% probability of lifting the Premier League trophy again in May, the highest in the division.
The projections are based on performance data, squad strength, and transfer activity.
Arsenal (18.8%), Chelsea (16.2%), and Manchester City (14.4%) are seen as the Reds’ closest challengers, suggesting a potential four-way title race—something rarely seen in Europe’s top leagues.
Elsewhere, the research shows the dominance of single clubs in other countries: Paris Saint-Germain have a 73% chance of winning Ligue 1, Bayern Munich lead the Bundesliga odds at 61.4%, and Real Madrid top La Liga projections with 40.6%.
Nottingham Forest are ranked fifth-favourites in England with a 7.9% chance, ahead of Newcastle (5.8%), Aston Villa (3.2%), and Manchester United (2.6%).
