Oladele David Praise, known online as ROYALNASTY or “Ask of Royal,” has become one of Nigeria’s most recognisable figures on TikTok. Born on 27 November 2002 in Abuja, Praise combines his Systems Engineering background from the University of Lagos with a growing interest in digital storytelling.
Since launching his content journey in 2024, he has gained more than 1.8 million followers and over 50.9 million likes. His short videos often feature comedy sketches drawn from daily life and cultural themes. Praise says his work is inspired by “love and affections,” which he believes connect audiences beyond national borders.
One of his most notable videos, centred on couple dynamics, attracted more than 18 million views and 1 million likes. His ability to reach millions of views repeatedly has placed him in a unique position in Nigeria’s expanding creator economy.
Praise has built his community, known as “The Royalties,” by focusing on relatability rather than provocative content. The fan base actively shares his work, helping him reach viewers outside Nigeria and strengthening his international profile.
Industry watchers say Nigeria’s creator economy is experiencing rapid growth, with TikTok offering new paths for visibility and income. Praise’s approach, which combines strategic content planning with authenticity, highlights how young creators are adapting to platform algorithms to maximise reach. His engineering background, they note, supports the analytical skills needed to plan uploads and sustain engagement.
Observers believe his rise could open opportunities across multiple platforms, brand partnerships, and possibly film or television. For now, Praise remains focused on TikTok, where his humour, cultural themes, and consistent output continue to attract millions of viewers at home and abroad.
