The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has assured candidates that efforts are in top gear to ensure that results are made accessible within 24 hours of release.
Moyo Adesina, the AG, head of public affairs at WAEC Nigeria office, Yaba-Lagos, in a statement, informed the general public and all concerned candidates in the May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) released recently that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues.

However, she assured that the council is working to ensure that this is resolved within the next 24 hours to enable candidates to have access to their results.
“WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues.
“However, the council is working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results in the next 24 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused you,” the statement read in part.
Meanwhile, many candidates and schools expressed worries about their struggles trying to access their results.

One school told BusinessDay that they are not happy because their students who did well in JAMB with over 350 cannot access their results.
Mpakaboari Princewill and Felix Prince, students of Community Secondary School Igbo Etche, and Upovercomers Academy Igbo Etche in Rivers State, respectively, could not access their results, despite scoring high in their UTME.
WAEC assures its commitment to ensuring the council’s ongoing drive to improve service delivery and leveraging technology for faster and more efficient results is sustained.
