The House of Representatives Committee on Finance has approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), totalling ₦105.14 billion.
The bill was adopted during a budget defence session held on Tuesday at the National Assembly, where Mohammed Shehu, Chairman of RMAFC, led a delegation from the Commission to present its fiscal plan for the year.
Providing a breakdown of the proposed budget, Shehu disclosed that ₦20.6 billion had been earmarked for personnel costs, while ₦8.9 billion was allocated for overhead expenses.

He commended the committee for its efforts in pushing through the recent amendment to the RMAFC Act, describing the legislative action as a significant step that would enhance the Commission’s operational efficiency and relevance.
In his remarks, James Faleke, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, stated that members had thoroughly reviewed the budget proposal and found the estimates satisfactory.
He assured that the committee would monitor its implementation through its oversight functions, noting that budget performance would be a key focus upon resumption from the National Assembly’s annual recess.
“We are going on recess shortly, but when we return, we expect that at least 30 to 40 percent of the budget would have been implemented.
“This will be a critical yardstick for assessing performance,” Faleke said.
