For the second consecutive year, PalmPay has been recognized as one of the world’s top 300 fintech firms by CNBC and Statista in their 2025 ranking.
PalmPay was listed among giants like Revolut, Nubank, and Ant Group.
These yearly lists, titled ‘Top 300 Fintech Companies in the World’, are based on research conducted by Statista and editorials written by CNBC. They evaluate thousands of firms globally based on key performance indicators like growth, revenue, product innovation, market presence, and impact. The lists are not ranked, and the firms are listed alphabetically.
Founding chief marketing officer at PalmPay, Sofia Zab, called the recognition a “powerful affirmation of our mission to build a more inclusive financial system.”
PalmPay operates primarily in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, and Bangladesh. It recently launched a mobile financing model that can enable efficient digital financial services in Tanzania and Bangladesh.
“Through cutting-edge technology, deep local distribution, and a customer-first mindset, we have built Nigeria’s leading neobank,” Zab said.
Earlier this year, they ranked on the Financial Times—Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2025 list, as the number one in the financial services sector, and number two overall.
Group chief commercial officer at PalmPay, Jiapei Yan, said, “PalmPay is building a neobanking platform tailored to the realities of emerging markets.” According to Yan, PalmPay is building the foundation for a connected digital economy where inclusive, reliable financial tools empower people and businesses to succeed.
“This recognition from CNBC and Statista affirms our progress and also the scale of the opportunity ahead. As we expand across more merging markets, we are committed to creating lasting value for our users, partners, and the communities we serve,” he said.
This year’s list highlights an increased representation from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, a reflection of a broadening fintech landscape.
Other African fintech leaders on this list include Interswitch, Moniepoint, Opay, MyFawry, Paymob, Yoco, M-Kopa, PiggyVest, Tala, and Paymob.
