In just under two years of impact, Bonded by Tech has reached a significant milestone in its mission to digitally empower Nigerian youth, successfully training over 5,000 young people with relevant tech skills. Founded by Echezonachi Ndeokwelu, the organization remains firmly committed to its bold vision of training 1.5 million Nigerian youths by 2030, using technology as a tool for opportunity, inclusion, and transformation.
“In every training session and mentorship program, we’re not just teaching skills, we’re opening doors,” said Echezonachi. “Bonded by Tech was born from a deep need I saw growing up as many brilliant young people were not getting the chances they deserved. Today, we’re changing that narrative.”
Initially focused on underserved communities in Northern Nigeria, Bonded by Tech has evolved into a fast-growing digital learning community. Through free workshops, mentorship programs, tech clubs, and school outreaches, the organization ensures that young people regardless of background or location have access to quality tech education.
In the first half of 2024 alone, Bonded by Tech hosted its second TechXSummit at the University of Abuja, delivered digital skills training in secondary and primary schools, and extended programming to IDP camps in the FCT, creating more pathways for young Nigerians to gain confidence, skills, and access to career or entrepreneurial opportunities.
As part of its commitment to community-driven growth, Bonded by Tech recognized several mentors and contributors who went above and beyond to support its mission. Among them, Nnennaya Halliday, a cloud security engineer was acknowledged as a top 1% mentor and contributor in 2024.
“Being part of this mission has been deeply fulfilling,” said Nnennaya Halliday. “Every young person deserves a chance to dream and build something meaningful, and sometimes all they need is someone to believe in them. I’m honored to be part of that process.”
“Volunteers like Nnennaya are helping us build not just a learning platform but a support system,” Echezonachi noted. “We’re creating a generation that is empowered, resilient, and future-ready.”
As Bonded by Tech continues its journey, it is calling on partners, donors, and passionate changemakers to join the movement. The organization is preparing to launch new digital tools, expand its curriculum, and reach more underserved areas across the country.
“This is just the beginning,” Echezonachi added. “We’re building a movement that belongs to all of us. With continued support, we can reach more lives and accelerate the journey toward a more inclusive, empowered Nigeria.”
