Months after making waves silently in the music industry, the veil of obscurity around Chippy Records has been removed.
The founder and CEO of Chippy Records label, Okedara Ibitoye Ezekiel, aka Chippy Toye has explained why the brand is different from other competing brands.
“Chippy Records is a reputable music brand that manages artistes, markets good music, and publicises greatness in sounds,” Chippy Toye said.
Speaking on how he came up with the business idea of a record label, the Abeokuta, Ogun State indigene and alumnus of the Federal College of Education Osiele said: “My love for music is deeply rooted in the magical feeling that instruments make and how a complimenting vocal comes through to penetrate the ears of listeners.”
According to him: “Music is supposed to be appreciated and those that make life more beautiful with their craft need a platform to do so; that’s why I had to set up Chippy Records Label.”
On how he derived the name for the label, Chippy Toye explained: “Chippy has always been my nickname from school, and what’s the need to build a random name again when there is a beautiful one like Chippy? So I settled for this.”
Chippy Records, he further claimed, is different from other music labels in a fundamental way. “A brand is built around a lot of things, but one that makes you have a sense of belonging isn’t that common. Chippy Records is a home, a family for all the team members. The bond and love of family elevate the brand to a level that pushed it ahead of others in the industry,” Chippy Toye added.
