The Presidency has dismissed the list said to contain the names of aides attached to the office of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo purported to have been sacked on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The disclaimer was contained in a tweet by) Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President (office of the Vice President on Thursday night.
Akande, in the Twitter message, also disclosed that he had personally apologised to the Vanguard Photojournalist who was rough-handled by some overzealous security aides attached to the office of the Vice President
Akande who was reacting officially for the first time to the sack story, urged Nigerians to “ignore the list “circulating in the Media, even as he failed to provide the authentic list of the aides sacked or confirm the sacking of the Vice President’s aides
The tweet @ akandeoj stated that “ The needless scuffle btw a Villa accredited Photographer, Mr. Adeshida & one of our security aides earlier today has been resolved. Incident is regretted, & I have apologized to him for any embarrassment caused. Also, a list circulating in the media on the so called Presidential aides is not genuine and ought to be ignored”.
Recall that the media had since Wednesday been awash with stories on the sacked aides while every efforts to get the true situation on the developing stories from the Vice President’s Spokesman failed.
BusinessDay Villa sources however revealed that while it may be true that not all the aides of the Vice President contained on the list may have been sacked, some have indeed lost their jobs, while their Villa tags were withdrawn.
