Comrade Peter Gambo, Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Taraba state chapter has assured workers in the state of efforts by the union to ensure speedy implementation of the new minimum wage passed by the Federal Government.
Gambo gave the assurance on Sunday while speaking to newsmen in Jalingo.
He said that his conviction that the state would not delay in the implementation of the new minimum wage was due to the the harmonious relationship that existed between the state government and the organised labour in the state.
He therefore, urged workers in the state to remain patient as they await the quick and full implementation of the new minimum wage law.
The labour leader also advised workers to put-in their best to achieve their goal of wealth creation for the generality of the state.
He commended Gov. Darius Ishaku for prompt payment of salaries as well as being up-to-date in the payment of worker’s salaries in the state.
“I will advise my fellow workers to expect a quick implementation of the new minimum wage.
“My conviction stem from the fact that Gov. Darius Ishaku is a labour friendly governor and he will not delay in the implementation of the new minimum wage.
The Federal Government together with the organised labour had concluded negotiations on the consequential adjustment of the N30,000 national minimum wage.
