President Muhamamdu Buhari has decorated Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, as the new Inspector General of Police.
The decoration was done at the President’s office as former IGP Idris Ibrahim performed the traditional escort of the new IGP to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja .
Muhammadu Adamu, an Assistant Inspector General of Police, was until his new appointment undergoing course at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
Both Idris and Mohammed Adamu had driven together to meet with President Buhari for the decoration that lasted for about 30 minutes.

They later drove out of the Villa together in the same Mercedes Benz NPF 001 vehicle with the new IGP occupying the official seat , while the former IGP took the other seat.
Adamu had earlier served as the Commissioner Of Police in Enugu State, before moving to Edo state as the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five.
AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed is to take over from outgoing Inspector General Of Police Ibrahim Idris.
Mohammed who has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography, was born on November 9, 1961 and was enlisted in the police in 1986.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in closed door meeting with Abubakar Mohammed, the man highly speculated to succeed the outgoing Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris.
The meeting with Mohammed is said to be part of the process according to BusinessDay Presidency sources, preceding his appointment, as the meeting is coming on the heels of the Monday’s meeting with the outgoing Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
