In confirmation of BusinesDay’s earlier report, aggrieved members of House of Representatives staged a mild protest ahead of s President Muhammadu Buhari’arrival to address the joint session of the National Assembly.
Despite entreaties from the leadership of the House of Representatives, opposition lawmakers resorted to chanting of solidarity song: “Freedom come, by struggle for struggle, freedom come”.
After few minutes of dousing the tension, the chanting gained momentum as more lawmakers joined the solidarity song: ” Freedom come, by struggle freedom come! ”
Some lawmakers from the North were seen challenging their counterparts from continuing the solidarity song.
Piqued by the development, the opposition lawmakers displayed various placards bearing series of inscriptions.
Amidst the crisis, Bashir Babale (APC-Kano) was manhandled for wrestling with his counterparts.
