The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has moved to moved to stop further defections as the 2019 general elections draw closer.
This is as APC constituted National Peace and Reconciliation Committees for the six geopolitical Zones headed by Governors with membership comprising Governors, Senators, Ministers and other party stalwarts that would reconcile aggrieved members with a view to preventing them from dumping the party in the eve of the general elections.

Governors Umar Ganduje of Kano State heading the Committee for South East, Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa heading North East Committee and Kashim Shettima of Borno State, Chairman of the South West Committee, among other members have already arrived the APC National Secretariat, Abuja for inauguration.
