Update 1: Ambode congratulates Sanwo-Olu, pledges support

Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode has conceded and congratulated his oppponent, Jide Sanwo-Olu for Lagos gubernatorial primaries under the flagship of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor said this at a press conference he held today at Alausa.
“Dear Nigerians, APC is a great party and on that note I congratulate the winner of the APC primaries, Jide Sanwo-Olu. I appeal to all our party members to unite behind our candidate and remain one party,” Ambode said.
The governor also promised to do everything within his ability to ensure a smooth transition in the remaining period of his administration and ultimately to the new governor.
“The progress of Lagos State is non-negotiable. It is a project that I have passionately worked for in the last three and half years as your governor and one to which I will forever be devoted to,” he said.
